Orlando Sentinel continues its Headline War on Rick Scott

This was an Orlando Sentinel headline this week:

For some in tea party, honeymoon with Gov. Scott is over

11:24 a.m. EST, March 26, 2012|By Kathleen Haughney, Tallahassee Bureau

The article goes on to quote three tea party organizers, one of which was a public supporter of Scott’s primary opponent Attorney General Bill McCollum. The other organizers express an overall satisfaction with Scott and acknowledge disappointment with his lack of action on immigration. But, we see that the Sentinel chooses a headline that continues its liberal narrative “nobody likes Rick Scott”. How many negative headlines does it take to shape public perception?

As well as the attack headlines, there is also the deliberate omission of  articles that show Rick Scott as anything other than governor. I would say that if he were a liberal democrat, we would know the name of his pets, his favorite kind of soup and who his picks were in the basketball brackets. This is a typical tactic of the media to de-humanize conservatives by default.

A little blurb at the end mentions that Rick Scott spoke at a recent  tea party rally in the panhandle of Florida. I would like to inform the Sentinel that Governor Scott will be right here in Orlando for the 4th Annual Tax Day Tea Party at the Lake Eola Bandshell on April 15th at 2 p.m.
