An endorsement from Senate Conservative Fund (SCF) is the conservative’s gold standard. The SCF only endorses in races in which there is a candidate with a rock solid conservative record.
In Florida’s GOP Senate race, no candidate has statewide name recognition. However, Ron DeSantis has received the distinct recognition of which conservative voters should not take note. Of the 34 Senate seats up for election in 2016, Ron DeSantis is one of two candidates the SCF has endorsed. The other endorsement is Senator Mike Lee from Utah, a proven conservative.
Voters in Florida will be going to the polls at the end of summer to vote for Marco Rubio’s replacement.
One look at his stellar Wikipedia page and you’ll know why Ron DeSantis is a serious contender for leadership in Florida.
Early life and education
Ron DeSantis was born in 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1991 he was a member of the Little League team from Dunedin National that made it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Dunedin High School in Dunedin in 1997. He pursued his higher education at Yale University, where he was captain of the varsity baseball team in his senior year. He worked for the Joint Task Force-Guantanamo Commander (JTF-GTMO), working directly with incarcerated terrorists at the Guantanamo Bay Joint Detention Facility.
In 2007, Lt. DeSantis reported to the Naval Special Warfare Command Group in Coronado, California, where he was assigned to SEAL Team One and deployed to Iraq with the troop surge as the Legal Advisor to the SEAL Commander, Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah.
He returned to CONUS in April 2008, at which time he was reassigned to the Naval Region Legal Service. He earned an appointment with the U.S. Department of Justice to serve as a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Middle District of Florida. Lt. DeSantis was assigned as a Trial Defense Counsel until his Honorable Discharge from active duty in February 2010. SCF is a grassroots organization dedicated to electing strong conservative leaders to the United States Senate. We do not support liberal Republicans and we’re not affiliated with the Republican Party or any of its campaign committees.
SCF seeks to bring bold conservative leadership to Washington by supporting candidates who have the courage to fight for the timeless conservative principles of limited government, strong national defense, and traditional family values.
Our goal is to enact policies that will restore America’s greatness. Therefore, we only support candidates who have the courage to:
Congress must be forced to cut spending. SCF candidates support a constitutional amendment to balance the federal budget without raising taxes.
President Obama’s health care takeover is set to destroy American medicine and bankrupt our country. SCF candidates support the full repeal of this dangerous law.
The federal government has failed to enforce our nation’s immigration laws. SCF candidates support real border enforcement and oppose amnesty.
Defend the 2nd Amendment
The 2nd Amendment protects our freedom to keep and bear arms. SCF candidates oppose all efforts to eliminate or restrict this right.
Bailouts force taxpayers to reward failure and punish success. SCF candidates oppose bailouts and believe corporations should be forced to compete.
Congressional earmarks are a gateway drug to higher spending. SCF candidates support a permanent ban on earmarks to break Washington’s addiction to pork.
Americans should not be forced to fund activities they find morally objectionable. SCF candidates oppose taxpayer funding for abortion.
SCF helps candidates by raising support from thousands of freedom-loving Americans across the country, and by running hard-hitting radio and television ads.
SCF members live in every state and come from all walks of life. They love America and don’t want to see liberal policies destroy it. SCF members know that change in Washington means changing the people we send there, and they know that building a conservative majority in the U.S. Senate is critical to saving our country.
