Taking Hostages: Tehran in 1979 – Cairo in 2012

In a column on RenewAmerica.com, Taking hostages: Tehran in 1979 – Cairo in 2012, author Alan Caruba “vividly recalls the Iranian “students” who took our diplomats hostage in 1979 and the 444 days it took to get them back”.

He also talks about how “the repeat of this by the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo, putting 19 pro-democracy, non-government organization (NGO) Americans on trial on trumped up charges has an ugly repetitive feel to it.”

From Jimmy Carter to Barack Obama, we are beginning to see the same scenario play out.  These are very dangerous times in the Middle East and weakness is not going to resolve anything.

Do we really want to relive those 444 days of disgrace again America?
