65% of GOP Republicans don’t Bother to Show Up

Today, the Sun-Sentinel reports that Florida Secretary of State Kurt Browning said that statewide turnout for the republican primary was at 35%. Earlier today, the supervisor of elections for Orange County, Bill Cowles, indicated that the turnout for the GOP in Orange County was at about 28% in Orange County.

I realize that the GOP candidates may not generate much excitement, but it is hard for me to understand why so many people are sitting this one out. With so much at stake, what’s it going to take to get people to pay attention and get involved?
