A former editorial writer at the Orlando Sentinel will join Democrat Alex Sink’s Florida Next Foundation where he will “guide the foundation’s research and communication initiatives”. Last Friday, Florida Next Foundation released an announcement naming Victor Schaffner as vice-president for policy and research. Florida Next Foundation, according to its website, is a non-partisan 501(c)(3) non-profit organzation.
Another former editorial writer at the Orlando Sentinel, Ann Hellmuth, is the president a non-partisan 501(c)(3) non-profit organization known as League of Women Voters of Orange County. The league of Women Voters has aligned itself so closely to the platform of the Democrat Party, I wonder if it is just a front group for liberal activists.
With this kind of networking between the Florida media and liberal activists, is it any wonder the Orlando Sentinel reads like the talking points from the Democrat Party? Recalling how liberal hack, Ezra Klein of the Washington Post, formed the JournoList, a secretive political members-only group of journalists and political operatives that orchestrated their headlines and commentary for the Presidential Election of 2008, one has wonder if Florida liberals are up to the same thing. Is there an unethical coordination between Florida media types and Democrat activists to shape public opinion in Florida?
